The SSPCA would like to inform the public that we are currently working with the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) to implement the targeted removal of free-roaming dogs. Some netizens have referred to this programme as the ‘culling’ of free-roaming dogs. We would like to inform the public that only dogs with unknown status are removed. Free-roaming dogs that have the 2-colour plastic chains are not caught and culled. The double collared dogs will be handed over to SOS to be held in their temporary shelters for a period of observation. SSPCA’s shelter is unable to accept any dogs as we are overcrowded with more than 300 animals.
