“Working with WWF-Malaysia has always been a dream of mine. I love my job as it comes with interesting field experiences and it lets me to be close to nature.
My most memorable experiences so far has been seeing a majestic tiger right in front my eyes, while I was patrolling with my team along a river.
We stumbled upon fresh pugmarks, indicating that a tiger had recently been there. Thrilled, we decided to continue trekking in search for more wildlife signs.
It was rewarding as we discovered a trail that was rich with animal tracks – tiger, deer, wild boar and tapir. We had just reached the river bank when suddenly, right in front of us from the shallow waters, out leaped a huge tiger.
We were all stunned as it was only 20 meters away from us! Fortunately, it just gave out an aggressive purr before fleeing back into the forest. This was by far the most magnificent experience I’ve gained from working with WWF-Malaysia.– Dinesh Khanna Thillainathan, Anti-Poaching Officer.
