AFTER FIVE YEARS AND FIVE MONTHS – HAPPY NEWS!
In January 2012, a dog was tied to a railing for hours with no food, no water and no human companion in sight. A concerned member of the public contacted us and we brought the dog back to the SPCA. All means to contact the dogs owner failed and it appeared, sadly, that the dog was abandoned.
The team at SPCA went about preparing the dog, later named Happy, for adoption. He was examined by a veterinarian, underwent sterilisation surgery, vaccinated, dewormed and given lots of love and attention. Little did we know that he was not going anywhere anytime soon. Happy remained a resident at the SPCA, patiently waiting for his turn to find his forever home.
Finally, five years and five months after we took him in, Happy was adopted by Elisa, an SPCA volunteer.

We thank the team from Channel 8 and Frontline for putting the spotlight on adoption, and Elisa and her family for giving Happy a loving home.
With the Year of the Dog around the corner, we would like to remind the public to not get a dog, or any other pet, on impulse. If you and your family are ready for the commitment, do consider adopting an animal from the SPCA (http://www.spca.org.sg/services.asp) or other animal welfare organisations. If you are unable to adopt, you can help by sponsoring a dog – http://www.spca.org.sg/helpus_sponsorship_dogs.asp
