We had the pleasure of befriending a leading example! JunHien, a teacher from St. Joseph’s Institution who volunteered for the animal care team for a month, shares his sentiments about human-wildlife interactions:

�Thank you for planning a work schedule that ensure I experienced the various forms of work at ACRES. In doing so, these experiences had helped me see the detachment Urban dwellers have from nature and animals as well as the enormity of the task ACRES had taken on. I am convinced the care for animals and education to the greater public must carry on. And I will be happy to find time to support ACRES again.�

ACRES (Animal Concerns Research & Education Society) is a pioneering Singapore-based charity and Institution of Public Character, founded by Singaporeans in 2001 with the aim of promoting animal welfare.

ACRES has six focus areas: Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Wildlife Crime Investigation, Zoo Animal Welfare, Humane Education, Community Outreach and Promoting Cruelty-Free Living.
