Daffi And Her Mats

The 3-day hot roof sojourn last week had definitely taken its toll on Daffodil.

It’s now exactly a week since she came back and for the last two days, I was really worried about her.

She seems weak and has problems walking. Her appetite hasn’t been too good either.

Daffodil decided she just wants to live upstairs for now. So, every few hours I go upstairs to attend to her needs.

She likes this furry and cushiony mat.
We have two upstairs so she shuttles between them.

Sometimes, Heidi keeps her company.

It’s all about lying on mats now.

Her appetite isn’t good, so I try all kinds of foods for her. She can only eat a little each time.  I’ve given her Cindy’s (which she loved earlier, but doesn’t care much for it now), barf (doesn’t like much), home-cooked (doesn’t like much too), Primal (doesn’t like as well, for now). For today, she seemed to like Ciao and Kit Cat (both liquid foods for convalescing cats) so I gave her that. At least she gets some food. Just now, I decided to try my luck with half-boiled egg yolk. To my utter delight, Daffodil loved it! It felt better than the proverbial “striking a lottery”, really.

At least I’ve found something that she likes. Half-boiled egg yolk would be easy to prepare. I buy organic eggs (free range, where the chickens get to live on for their natural lifespan) from Kampung Harvest. Let’s hope she still likes it tomorrow.

I’ll just have to try all sorts – as long as she eats.

There is no need to force-feed her. Daffodil is still eating on her own, albeit small amounts each time.

Daffodil can walk, but very slowly. Her legs are not strong anymore.

I’ve prepared a litter box for her upstairs plus a bowl of fresh water.

How can I possibly let her go out in her present condition, right?  I’m glad I kept her confined in the house. And I’m really thankful she mustered all the strength she had left and came home after that 3-day hot roof adventure.

I’m giving her Bioresis and Danzen, twice a day, as gently as possible, without moving her from where she is. The paste on the tumour too. There has been no visible shrinking of the tumour ever since her trip out.

There’s been a setback, that’s for sure. But at least she is safe and sound now.

We will take it one day at a time.

I’m glad she is still eating and appears to be quite comfortable.
