Blocking The Gopher Hole
Tweet |
My friend, Cathy, came over this afternoon, to help me block the gopher hole. She even brought over her own supplies of green netting, in case I didn’t have any.
This is what we’ve done. Totally Cathy’s brainchild.
Thank you very much, Cathy!
A little hard to describe what we did, though. There are actually THREE layers of netting to penetrate before the cat can escape.
Everyone came out to see as we were making it. Indy, Heidi, Tabs, Vincent.
Dowager stayed on her sofa throughout.
The first piece is a rolled up netting right under the fence. Then, on both sides, is a flap of netting (just to make it a bit harder).
I found a piece of bamboo in the storeroom, so we made use of that as well, to block off the hole.
Slept through it all.
Today, I cleaned her tumour. It’s lacerated (she must have slept on concrete while she was on the roof during those three hot days) and it’s bleeding.
She slept all day and only got up in the late afternoon.
But in between, meals were served at the sofa.
Of course, HRH checked out the gopher hole.
You cannot go out when your tumour is still bleeding, Daffodil.
And after leaving my house, Cathy went to check out other options at Daiso. Here’s what she found:
It would depend on far deep we can hammer the little picket fences into the ground to make sure it’s Daffi-proof.
I truly appreciate all the help and support I’m getting here.
