3.30am All Quiet

I woke up at 2.30am and went out to look for Daffodil.

There was no sign of her at all.

Again, at 3.30am. Nothing.

Vincent sleeps in the bedroom now and two windows are wide open with the wire-netting taken down.

Ginger waited at Stargate2 as I walked up and down the road.

If the psychics are right, Daffodil should return today.

I remember the time Timmy disappeared. The psychics said he had gone to live with a bunch of cats in a nearby house and that he would return. I never saw Timmy again, but Mr G’s owner said she saw him once, on the ledge.

It’s only been two days now, but this is like the longest two days I’ve ever experienced. It feels like two months.

I miss Daffodil terribly.

A friend said yesterday, “Maybe she doesn’t want to trouble you anymore.”. But what trouble? There was absolutely no trouble at all. If cats are empaths, they would know how we feel. I have never ever, ever perceived her illness as any “trouble” incurred to me. Not at all. I nursed her with rejoicing, especially when her tumour began to shrink. There was significant progress almost on a daily basis.

So, no. There was no trouble at all on my part.

Daffodil wants things her way. That’s something beyond my control.

I pray the psychics are right. TWO DAYS. That’s what they told me.

That’s what Daffodil told them.

TWO DAYS.

It’s now 48 hours. Two days.
