Rosie (Day 39)

Today was an uneventful day for Rosie, but quite eventful for me.
It was a lovely morning, so I put Rosie in the cage so that she could get some fresh air and sunshine.
She soon fell asleep and it was all peaceful until…
Yes, Mr Zurik had to come and Rosie started mewing.
Rosie is really scared of him.
So, I brought Rosie inside the house.
Rosie helped me with the sewing of bags.
She has been eating quite a bit.
Oh, the best thing today is that Ginger touched noses with Rosie. Yay!
Here’s Rosie Posie!
And now, for my story. I have been seeking help for Rosie’s condition, consulting vets and pharmacists, to see if there is any stone left unturned, if there is anything we could have missed.
The vets have said to leave it as it is. What we are doing is enough and that there is nothing more that we can do.
We don’t know what is causing the blockages in the liver. It’s intrahepatic and that is why it’s difficult to find the cause.
But today, I found another theory. The medicines have covered bacterial, fungal and parasitic but we have not covered viral. And there is a human antiviral that can be used for cats, under the advice of a vet.
So I asked the vet, but was told we shouldn’t administer more drugs as that would tax on Rosie’s liver further. What we are doing is enough.
Okay, at least I have tried.
And it’s frustrating when you try so hard to seek help for your cat and the first response you get is, “Huh? A cat?”, and some people are just not interested to help anymore once they hear it’s for a cat.
I seldom get angry but I sure got angry today. Why on earth do you want to be in the medical or pharmaceutical profession if you are not interested in helping, or are you just interested in making money?
And yet, you need their help because you are not the expert in medicine or drugs, so you have to put up with the discrimination that we so often have to encounter in a world where humans think they are superior to all other living beings.
