WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DOG TRAINING

Dog training approaches have advanced over the years based on evidence from scientific studies of dog behaviour, and the way dogs are trained can impact on their welfare and emotional well-being. There is no longer a need to intimidate dogs to get them to work alongside us.

SPCA recommends using force-free training techniques and we invite you, your family and friends to join us in the below two activities :

Through the dogs eyes What makes a family dog workshop

Date : 8 April 2017, Saturday

Time : 11 am to 1 pm

Venue : SPCA, 50 Sungei Tengah Road Singapore 699012

Conducted by : Dr Kang Nee

Behavioural ecologist

Certified professional dog trainer

Certified separation anxiety specialist

Fees per participant :

SPCA members and owners of SPCA adopted dogs $ 20

Members of the public $ 25

Registration : www.spca.org.sg/payment.asp

and payment Under “Remarks/Payment for” please state:

1) “Through the Dog’s Eyes”

2) SPCA membership number

3) Animal handling reference number

(for dogs adopted from SPCA)

This workshop does not require you to bring your dogs along. Should you have any queries with regards to the above workshop, please email education@spca.org.sg

Through the Dog’s Eyes Masterclass

In this hands-on Masterclass, there are altogether allocated space for 15 observers and 2 handlers. Observers attend the masterclass without their dogs. Handlers will get to bring a dog along but both the handler and dog will require prior screening. If you are keen to register as a handler, please email education@spca.org.sg

Time : 11 am to 1 pm

Fees per participant :

1 handler with an accompanying adult and a dog $80

(Payment will be collected after screening).

Observer with no dogs $50
