Rosie (Day 19)

Rosie’s condition appears to be deteriorating.

Since yesterday, she did not want to eat anymore and had to be force-fed.

This morning, as usual, she woke me up at 4am, mewing.  I know she wants to be let out because this is the time she roams. But we cannot let her out as there’s no telling if she would come back. So I pacified her with food instead. She ate a bit of kibble and went back to sleep.

At 7am, she ate a little with Heidi, but only very little.

I have 11 different types of food for Rosie: Go!, Iskhan, Monge, Cindy’s, Ciao, Kit Kat, Natural Balance, Coco&Joe’s, Primal, RC’s Recovery and home-cooked food. I also have to use different bowls, because on certain days, she will only eat from a metal bowl and today, she only ate from a Tupperware bowl. Today, she didn’t want Go! anymore, she wanted Iskhan.

But what Rosie really wants is to go out.

We take her out on a harness, but that’s not what she wants.

She also wants from tender loving care from her mum, Daffodil, but since the day Rosie came home from an overnight stay on drips (just one night), Daffodil has not been able to “recognise” her anymore. Rosie goes to Daffodil and wants to nudge at her, but Daffodil smacks her and hisses at her.

This happened thrice today, within a few minutes.

Poor Rosie….

We will give her lots of tender loving care.

Rosie will only drink water from a metal bowl.

But for food, she chooses.

Trying to get close to her mum, but mum rejects her. Sigh…

Today was Rosie’s subcut again, so off we went to the vet’s this evening.

I am well aware that the prognosis is not good. Whatever we try, Rosie would respond, but only for a few days, and we are back to square one. It points more and more towards the possibility of a tumour. Rosie’s FIV+ condition isn’t helping too.

But we shall do our best for her. Tomorrow, we will be taking Rosie to a vet who practises TCM (including acupuncture) as well as allopathic medicine. We are hoping a combination of both will help.

Meanwhile, when Connie heard Rosie isn’t eating again, she bought Applaws and brought it all the way here this evening.

We came back from subcut and Rosie seemed much happier. She ate a bit of kibble on her own.

Despite the fact that she had eaten…

…she ate some of the Applaws!

Thank you, Aunty Connie!!

Eating kibble from a plastic bowl. Today, she didn’t want a metal bowl.

Now, Rosie is watching television with my husband. This is one of her favourite activities.
