It’s already been 10 days now….
Rosie wanted kibble this morning, so kibble it was.
Later, I force-fed her some wetfood together with her medicines and supplements.
Of course she still wants to get out to “ronda”.
By the time I returned home from work in the afternoon, I noticed some vomit in the litter box.
Today’s our appointment at the vet, so off we went.
The vet explained that for liver cases, the condition will fluctuate. Up-down-up-down, one day she might eat and the next, she won’t. That’s to be expected. Palpated the liver and it’s still big, but this vet will not use the size of the liver as a gauge of the degree of the illness. He says Rosie is still very alert, curious and active so that’s all good. Rosie lost another 100g in weight. The vet also said that vomiting is quite usual in liver cases. He prescribed a gastric tablet for this. It will not tax on the liver.
The vet says to continue with our current treatment protocol and give the medicines a chance to work. Liver cases can take weeks or even up to months to recover.
Rosie made a non-stop racket from here to the vet’s and back. But while in the vet’s room, she was quiet. She was given 150ml of subcut fluids on both sides. The subcut fluids will continue twice a week. It is for rehydration as well as detoxification.
As for TCM, we will not resort to that at the moment.
All tired out after complaining a whole afternoon.
One day at a time.
Meanwhile, we really have to get the mosquito (or rather, cat) netting done so that we can confine her indoors and allow some windows to be open. The plan is to keep one or two entrances for the PatioCats to come in in case of any emergency, so some windows cannot be netted permanently.
On Thursday will be the next subcut and blood test.
