A LITTLE MORE EMPATHY WILL GO A LONG WAY
Stray animals, also known as street or community animals, have been part of our environment for decades. Numerous individual caregivers often make significant personal sacrifices to look after these animals.
It is heartening to see support for community animals from the public – http://www.straitstimes.com/forum/letters-on-the-web/do-more-to-support-those-who-feed-strays
Do also view our response http://www.straitstimes.com/forum/letters-on-the-web/efforts-to-manage-stray-animals-paying-off on efforts by SPCA, other animal welfare groups and AVA.
You can also play your part to save lives. Donate at https://www.giving.sg/society-for-the-prevention-of-cruelty-to-animals/sterilise_our_community_dogs so that more sterilisation vouchers can be distributed to caregivers and other animal welfare groups.
Sterilisation saves lives – support Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) agrees with Mr Darren Chan Keng Leong that more can be done to help the dedicated people who feed strays (“Do more to support those who feed strays”; Forum Online, Dec 23, 2016).. Read more at straitstimes.com.
