We Ask For Your Honesty

Here we go…again.

To all applicants:

On the application form of our aid, there is a general question:

Are you applying to or receiving funds from other sources for your caregiving work?  _______ (Yes/No)
If yes, please state the sources (includes Facebook) and provide relevant details: _____________________________________________________________

Please note that this question refers to the act of applying to or receiving funds from other sources for your caregiving work (in general) at any time, not just for that particular animal whose neutering charges you are applying for. So if you have, you must answer YES to this question and please provide all details.

We have honest applicants who declare on the form that they have received dogfood, catfood, funds for medical bills, funds for boarding charges, but for neutering, they only apply to us. We appreciate this honesty very much and we will review each case independently. We also have applicants who declare honestly that previously, they have raised funds before (and even directs us to the links), but now, they have stopped doing so or they have failed to get funds now.

We do want to trust each and every single applicant. In fact, we always start off doing just that – we trust you are telling the truth when you answer NO to that question on the form. Imagine how disappointed we are when after some time, we find out that a few of these applicants have also been raising funds through other sources. Then, we have no choice but to fault these applicants for dishonesty and we can no longer help them thereon.

As cliche-ish as it sounds, honesty IS the best policy.

We assure all donors that we are always doing our best to ensure that there is no abuse of your donations and we will always exercise our right to the following, as written in our policies:

We ask that you abide by all our policy requirements and liaise with us in the spirit of full disclosure so that we may establish a relationship of trust, honesty and goodwill which goes a long way. This also protects the credibility of animal charity.

We retain sole discretion to decide on the amount or not to provide (without need to give reasons for such decision).
