SATURDAY CRIME NIGHT UPDATE ON MYNAH ABUSE CASE

SATURDAY CRIME NIGHT UPDATE ON MYNAH ABUSE CASE

The authorities have now completed investigations for the case, and enforcement action will be taken against the offender.

Several months ago, we looked into a case where a mynah was tied outside the window of a flat and the owner of the flat refused to release the bird. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) was called to help with the release of the bird.

We urged members of the public to refrain from harming our native wild animal species and provided ways to prevent them from entering your premises.

The ACRES Animal Crime Investigation Unit (ACIU) would like to reiterate that this is an act of animal cruelty.

There are humane ways to prevent birds from entering your premises:

1. Refrain from having food exposed

2. Hang wind chimes to scare birds using sound

3. Place scarecrow/ predator visuals

4. Apply non-toxic bird repellent spray

We hope that, through education, people can learn to live in greater harmony with our native birds.

Be vigilant and report cases of animal cruelty to the ACRES Animal Crime Investigation Unit (ACIU) at acrescrime@gmail.com

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for being vigilant and stepping up to end animal cruelty.
