HOT MEALS FOR THE DOGS IN ROMANIA

Look at what dear rescuer Alexandra Sarau has done for the dogs at her refuge.

“As the temperature went really, really down these days and got to -20 celsius degrees, I have started to boil some soup of vegetables and chicken and added some bread in the end. I can’t describe to you how the poor frozen dogs ate it, how happy they were.”

Alexandra recently had surgery and carrying the heavy buckets of food was not easy for her.

“The joy in their eyes made me forget about everything,” Alexandra said. “It costs a bit but I have no other option to get them warm.”

Today we’re actually responding to a true crisis situation at a pair of rescue centers elsewhere in Romania where heavy snow and strong wind have left hundreds of dogs in a life & death struggle. We’ll send an update as soon as we have one, but funds have been dispatched and we’re hoping that a massive force of local manpower will help to dig the dogs out while we talk with the rescue team about what can be constructed to protect the dogs during future storms.
