Six years ago, our When Sharks Die, The Oceans Die event kicked off our ongoing campaign to end the trade in shark fin soup in Singapore, and we urged Singaporeans to do their bit to help save sharks. Sharks are, after all, vital for the survival of ocean ecosystems.
Were delighted that over the years, many individuals and groups, including a large number of students, have been inspired to make a difference for sharks.
Recently, some National Junior College (NJC) students approached us with some proposed solutions to tackle the problem of the consumption of shark fin soup.
One of their ideas is a Shark Caf. The Shark Caf would aim to gather like-minded people who support the protection of sharks, and expand the reach of this meaningful concept to others. Would you support this idea? Let us know!
It’s always encouraging to see people supporting animal protection initiatives and playing an active role.
Exposure to purposeful community activities can really inspire and motivate children, and cultivate a strong community spirit within them. Sign your child up for Camp ACRES, where kids team up for animals! Get more information on the Facebook event page for Camp ACRES here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1504384856552142/
