Imagine going through life never knowing what it feels like to be cherished by someone. This is what life is like for dogs like Lilandra. Born on the street, of a mother born on the streets, she is typical of the street dogs of Thailand.

Just over a year old, Lilandra has already learnt the meaning of suffering. She arrived at our shelter with a shocking case of mange and bald patches all over her weak, emaciated body. She is also struggling with bloody diarrhoea, elevated white blood cells, and severe anaemia.

Lilandra�s case is not unique but she is one of the lucky ones. She is now at our shelter, being cared for by Dr Eugene. Thanks to people like you, the members of our Emergency Response Team, the treatment she so desperately needed is being funded, and we are hopeful she will make a full recovery.

While you gaze on Lilandra�s picture however, please think of the street dogs and cats whose stories you have not read and whose pictures you have not seen. These animals desperately need you. With no government funding or any other source of help, they will simply die without you. Please don�t let that happen.

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand.
