Did you know? 3,000 dogs used to be culled every year in Cali, Colombia for fear of rabies. We persuaded the government to sterilise dogs instead. The number of strays fell by 25%. Dog bites reduced. And when the project ended, 10,000 people paid to sterilise their dogs, rather than returning to culling.

The problemAround the world, dogs are brutally culled in a misguided attempt to stop the spread of rabies.Millions of dogs are cruelly culled every year in attempt to control the amount of strays on the streets.
The solutionThrough mass dog vaccination, we will protect both dogs and people from this killer disease.Address the source of the stray dog population, rather than culling as a means of population control.
What we’re doingVaccinating hundreds of thousands of dogs around the world.Proving that each vaccinated dog is protected from rabies – either with a collar, non-toxic paint or a certificate.Advising governments to manage their stray dogs humanely – instead of using cruel culls.

While we are currently facing this rabies problem and urging the authorities to adopt more compassionate ways of handling the situation, let’s not forget that neutering has to go on as it addresses the root of the situation – population control.

Please continue to help the street animals.

We offer aid for neutering: www.myanimalcare.org/aid/.
