Dogs Like Cersei Have No Hope Without You

I HAVE LOST MY SIGHT, BUT SOI DOG SUPPORTERS SAVED MY LIFE

I have lived on the streets of Thailand all my life. I am a girl called Cersei and I am over 7 years of age now. I have just been through the most horrendous trauma and I am telling you my story so you can understand just how important Soi Dog supporters are to dogs like me.

For 7 years, I managed just fine on the streets, like millions of other stray dogs in Thailand. It wasn�t the best life, but I got by. Kind people in the community feed the dogs in their area and, like so many others, this was the only life I�d ever known.

My world came crashing down around me the day I was hit by the car. I don�t remember much about it. I know I ran into the street and there was a lot of noise and then a terrible bang. I was hit full on in the head. Both my eyes popped out of their sockets as I was flung to the side of the road. I will never forget the pain.

I was found by a kind passer-by who ran to call Soi Dog and shortly after, I was picked up by a man called an Animal Rescue Officer. When Dr Eed examined me at the shelter, she told me my eyes were both severely damaged beyond repair. They were causing me so much pain and there was no choice but to remove them.

That terrible accident has left me blind. Despite that, I am lucky to be alive. The pain has gone and I am surrounded by people who are helping me heal and adjust to my new life. None of this would have been possible without people like you � the special Soi Dog supporters whose monthly donations meant I could be picked up and taken to the shelter that terrible day.

Without Soi Dog supporters, I would have died on those streets, alone and in agony. I now have a second chance at life, safe and cared for and, maybe one day, adopted to a forever home. This is something I have never known but I dare to dream.
