Sweet and quirky Mermaid came to the shelter at three months of age, and more than three years later she is still with us. Mermaid was found living in a rubber plantation, with no food or water and no one to care for her.

Mermaid has all her basic needs met at Soi Dog – food, water, shelter and medical care. She also gets walks and socialisation with volunteers. While she is being cared for, the last thing we want for dogs like Mermaid is for them to spend their entire lives in a shelter. Dogs deserve so much more than this and we wish for them all to find a loving home to call their own.

The good news for Mermaid is that she has been adopted to the USA and will soon be leaving to join her new family. We could not be more thrilled for Mermaid, however we still have many dogs both at the shelter in Phuket and rescued from the dog meat trade who need to find loving homes.

Do you have room in your heart and your home to adopt a dog in need? If you do, we would love to hear from you. More information on dogs available for adoption can be found at http://www.soidog.org/en/adoptions/.
