Only YOU Can Save Dogs Like Saan Sook.

ON THE BRINK OF DEATH, SAAN SOOK WAS SAVED BECAUSE OF YOU

My name is Saan Sook and I recently found myself in serious trouble. I was quite happy living in my neighbourhood. The people were nice to me and would feed me, so I was getting along quite well.

That was until a strange dog moved into my area. I tried to keep my distance from him, but he was hungry and confused and felt I posed a threat to him, so he attacked me.

I really did try to defend myself, but he was much bigger and tougher than me and hurt me really badly.

I ended up with an awful wound across my stomach and because I was so scared I hid in a quiet place where this mean dog could not find me. Because I was hiding, the nice people who feed me did not know I was so badly injured and without help, my wound got badly infected.

Once I was brave enough to come out of hiding, the people knew I needed help and called Soi Dog to come and get me.

I was very sick by the time I made it to Soi Dog. The tissue around my wound had started to die and there was a lot of pus coming from it. It was also very painful. Because I had gotten so sick I was having trouble breathing. I actually died at one point and the vet had to do CPR on me. Thankfully I pulled through but the vet was not sure if I would make it through the night. It was really scary!

It is still touch and go for me. My wound is treated every day and the vets are still removing dead tissue. I sometimes don’t feel like eating either, but the carers in the clinic are making me eat. I don’t really enjoy it at the moment, but I know it is important to eat to get healthy again.

I am told that it is only because of people who support Soi Dog that dogs like me are able to be helped. There is a special team called the Emergency Response Team, who help dogs and cats who have nowhere to turn when they need critical treatment.

So many more cats and dogs need lifesaving treatment just like me. To help these animals, more members are needed in the Emergency Response Team. Would you like to help animals in need? You don’t need to be in Thailand to do so. You can join the Emergency Response Team and make all the difference to suffering animals like me.

Every day, Soi Dog Foundation picks up sick and injured animals in desperate need of medical treatment. A small, regular gift from you will provide emergency care to those in urgent need, and fund spaying and neutering to prevent further suffering – will you sign up today?
