PAMUK COULD FLY TO NEW YORK SOON!
There is a flight volunteer who could take this darling, young Turkish street cat with them to JFK airport in New York on the 26th of June. In this photo, you see Pamuk just as she was found by a Polish woman who has just moved to Turkey but is not allowed to have pets in her apartment. Pamuk has tested positive for FIV but appears healthy and happy. Numerous studies show that the virus is not easily transmitted and that FIV-positive cats often live long and symptom-free lives. They do have a weakened immune system. Transmission to other cats comes through penetrating bite wounds which are very rare in a home environment, and naturally, there is no risk to humans.
Right now poor Pamuk has no takers. No one has expressed interest in adopting her yet. She’s been spayed and vaccinated and is ready for a new home The cost to adopt a cat from Turkey is $250 and that fee can sometimes be reduced or eliminated through our support if a good home is found.
We are short on time. If you are interested in potentially adopting Pamuk, please email Manuela Wroblewski in Turkey at manuwroblewski@googlemail.com PLEASE, no emails other than those from potential adopters. Manuela is extremely busy and we ask that everyone respect her time.
