SEEKING PRO-BONO PRINTING SERVICES TO HELP WILD ANIMALS IN SINGAPORE- CAN YOU HELP?
Each week, we love sharing the stories of wild animals whom we help, thanks to concerned members of the public contacting our Wildlife Rescue Hotline (97837782). However, what we don’t feature are the cases where ignorance and the lack of awareness led to the unfortunate injuries and deaths of animals. We want to do even more to stop such cases.
Furthermore, we want to help every single distressed wild animal in Singapore, but with only one rescue team on duty at any point of time, it’s a big challenge. So, our aim is to move towards reducing the need to attend to calls concerning relocating healthy, uninjured wild animals, so that we can use our resources more efficiently and attend to injured animals even more quickly. We want to nurture a spirit of harmonious living alongside wild animals, by instilling a better understanding of the characteristics of wild animals among the public.
As a part of these efforts, ACRES has now launched our Wildlife Advisory Packs! We hope to raise much-needed awareness about 6 common groups/species of wild animals found in Singapore: snakes, common palm civets, pigeons, bats, wild pigs and long-tailed macaques. When humans encounter them close to urban habitats, these are the animals that have been identified to suffer the most. If people put the “What-To-Dos” and the “What-Not-To-Dos” featured on our advisory notices into practise, the positive impact on wild animals in Singapore will be enormous!
We have the opportunity to display our infographic advisory notices at thousands of HDB blocks (residential blocks) in Singapore. If we can do this, residents will become aware of these wild animals and what to do should they be encountered!
But we need your help!
What we need now is a pro-bono printing service. If you know of any printing companies who can assist us with this printing (quantity may be advised), we would be most grateful! We are looking at printing over 20,000 coloured copies of these packs of 6 A4 size notices.
Please email our Head of Rescue, Mr. Joseph Lin at joseph@acres.org.sg
