THE KISS THAT STOPPED TIME

Jimmy’s whiskers trace the contour of Amila’s cheek as he looks up with with deep, earthy eyes. He licks her eagerly, tapping out each “kiss”with the drum of his tail against the dock. In this moment, the morning light is theirs alone.

Before Marianne’s Dog Food Bank came along, Jimmy was a street dog. Here in Bosnia, he ate, slept and searched on the streets for all the things a dog needs. But not until the day he was rescued, did he find what he was looking for.

WE NEED YOUR HELP SERVING 1/2 MILLION MEALS:

Food. It’s the number one ache of every street dog and cat. During June, July and August, we’ll be serving nearly 1/2 million meals to stop that hunger for rescued animals and street animals like Jimmy. We’ve taken several animal rescue squads under our wing for the summer and promised to feed their packs. The food drive is an ESSENTIAL mission for rescue squads who have no one else to turn to:

BOSNIA: 330 dogs & cat in Sarajevo and other communities

GREECE: 34 rescued cats

THAILAND: 52 animals including water buffalo, cows, dogs

TURKEY: 310 cats & dogs in an Avsallar based street dog & cat feeding project

ROMANIA: 911 dogs & cats at the St. Francis shelter

SERBIA: 600+ dogs at Sasha Pesic’s cage-free dog sanctuary and a nearby rescue center

UKRAINE: 1,200 dogs & cats in Kiev, 30 cats at a nearby cat rescue center and hopefully another donation of food for the 900+ dog shelter in Donetsk

USA: Our own cat sanctuary, dog rescue & feral cat feeding program – 142 cats & dogs
