We Received A Report About A Puppy Stuck In A Hole. We Never Expected The Drama That Followed

It was a busy day, like all others, when we received a call about a small puppy stuck in a hole. Animal Rescue Officer Khun Nok was immediately dispatched to the scene but only on arrival did he realise the extreme seriousness of the situation. The puppy lay at the bottom of a hole at least 12 feet deep. He wasnt moving.

Khun Nok called for some rope and asked that he be lowered into the hole. The moments that followed were some of our most tense in animal rescue. Unsure if the puppy was alive or dead, Khun Nok was slowly lowered towards him. Finally reaching the bottom, he scooped up the tiny boy and held him tightly as both were pulled to the surface.

On reaching the top, the puppy gently licked Khun Noks hand. This was the moment we met Charmander. Covered in lice and fleas, with several wounds from his drop into the ground, at just 6 weeks of age, Charmander was a heart-breaking sight. But he was alive.

Dogs like Charmander desperately need YOU. Rescues like this are completely dependent on you. Will you please CLICK THIS LINK to help? http://bit.ly/Saving_Charmander

Charmander was raced back to our shelter where the vets treated his dehydration and injuries. A few hours later, we got our first smile from him.

Our supporters fund the emergency rescue and medical treatment of animals like Charmander every week. No amount is too small; just a few dollars a week is all it takes.
