Help Arrives for Injured Tortoises

Tortoises who come to the The Kerulos Center’s ‘Tortoise and the Hare Sanctuary’ hail from a government facility created to recover the Mojave Desert Tortoise population. Tortoise numbers have plummeted by 90% in the last 30 years due to urbanization, increased human population and habitat damage.

Harmony Fund recently sent financial support to help in the care of these special sanctuary residents.

“Have just received word of your generous grant for out Tortoises. Thank you so very much. Admittedly, it brought tears,” said Gay Bradshaw of the Kerulos Center.
