YOU Are The Only Hope Stray Dogs Like Vesna Have.

When Vesna Was Hit By A Car, Her Life Hung In The Balance And She Struggled To Use Her Seriously Injured Leg…

Vesna is a 6 year old girl who has lived her life on the streets of Phuket, Thailand. She is one of thousands, homeless and alone, dependent on the kindness of people in their community for their daily food.

Vesna would have been scavenging for something to eat when she ran into the busy road, where she was mown down by a passing car. Flung to the side of the road, she was rescued by a local Thai man who witnessed the accident.

This man took Vesna to the nearest vet clinic, where she received emergency treatment, and her rescuer contacted our shelter. Shortly after that, Vesna was picked up by one of our Animal Rescue Officers, who brought her to us, where our vets battled to stabilise her.

Vesna’s journey to recovery has been a long one. Her left back leg was seriously injured and she was in a lot of pain. It was touch and go as to whether she would be able to keep her leg but today, she is unrecognisable from the girl who arrived at our shelter in agony.

After having special pins inserted in her leg, Vesna started to use it more, and gradually, the injury started to heal. She is still not out of the woods and is scheduled for cruciate ligament surgery. In the meantime, she is receiving daily physiotherapy from a long-term volunteer.

Please help us care for dogs like Vesna. Just a few dollars a week goes so much further in Thailand and will change the world for these animals.

You are the only hope they have. Please click on the pictures of Vesna to help them today.

Every day, Soi Dog Foundation picks up stray dogs and cats that are sick or injured, that have been abused or abandoned. With no government funding, we urgently need your support to save them.
