2 kittens rescued from road divider’s drain, on the AYE….

Just yesterday (August 26), around noon, we were alerted to a pair of young kittens (about 2-3 weeks old) seen roaming on the grass-covered plot of a road divider. This divider is immediately opposite a bus stop situated along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE).

Our rescue officers rushed to the scene near the AYE bus stop (opposite the Cycle & Carriage), and spotted the distressed kittens huddled together in a drain coursing through the road divider there. Presumably, the kittens were unlikely to make their way out of the drain on their own, considering their age and ready physical abilities. They might have been terrified too by the heavy traffic and din.

The kittens actually seemed relieved to be lifted out of their ordeal, as they didn’t resist being carried by our officers and placed in our carrier. Both kittens though physically unharmed appear shaken, and were taken to our shelter to be checked by our vets. Hopefully, they would be ready to be fostered next.

We thank our informer Kenny for the alert. Members of the public can, likewise, help us to help any injured, sick and/or distressed animal, by calling our 24-hour emergency hotline at 62875355 extension 9, and clear emergency cases would be given priority.
