BLACK PETS ABANDONED BECAUSE THEY DON’T SHOW UP WELL IN SELFIES

The RSPCA animal charity in the United Kingdom reports that there is a spike in black cats being brought into shelters because their features don’t show up well in selfies.

This may sound too strange to be true, but there’s been a long standing problem with animals with black fur having a lower rate of adoption because those animals with more colorful coats tend to get noticed more readily.

“There is a national problem with rehoming cats of this colour and at any one time around 70 per cent of the cats in our care will be either black or black and white,” an RSPCA spokesperson said.

So what do you say. Are pets with black fur just as striking as all the rest? Anyone here have a beautiful pet with black fur? Please feel free to share photos of your precious black furred pets on this post.

Animal Rescue Chase

The Great Animal Rescue Chase celebrates the art of animal rescue with a worldwide race to rescue one million. It’s a free event, open to all, and is perhaps the only global animal rescue event aimed at helping any animal in distress, anywhere in the world. Our ambition is to create a culture of enthusiasm and pride in animal activism. We believe in teaching, by example, that there is a hero in each of us just waiting to be unleashed. Empowered animal lovers can not only save lives, but build the momentum for powerful animal welfare reform.
