“DON’T WORRY BUNNY, YOU’LL LIKE IT HERE”

Recently rescued Isis the cat lends a bit of assurance to a bunny named Ruby who escaped a bitter end last week. Ruby was living with a family who saved her from an uncle’s rabbit meat farm two years ago. But after raising her in their home, they grew tired of her.

“It’s a good thing you came,” Ruby’s guardian told Harmony Fund Founder Laura Simpson. “My sons were about to eat her.”

Yes, she was sincere. The adult sons wanted to try their hand at the rabbit slaughter for meat and Ruby, being overweight, seemed like a good place to start.

Ruby will be the first rabbit to take up residence at the Harmony Fund’s small sanctuary which is currently in the planning stages. Isis, is up for adoption in Central Massachusetts (USA). Both have nothing but blue skies ahead.
