LETTER TO THE FAMILY WHO THREW THIS CAT AWAY FOR USING HER LITTER BOX “LOUDLY”:

This cat was thrown out of her home for making noise in her litter box at night. Her family grew angrier by the night as they heard her digging in her box to conceal her droppings. They threw things at her, hollered at her and chased her away. The more they yelled, the more she tried to hide her bathroom habits and go when she knew everyone was asleep. She made higher and higher mounds of litter, hoping she could hide her indiscretion. She didn’t know what else to do and the more she dug, the worse things got.

One day the family had enough and threw her out. They told the neighbors not to feed her because they wanted her to “go away”. And when this little one tried with all her might to get back inside, she was kicked and hollered at for being “a rotten flea bag”.

But, to the family who threw away this cat, I’m sorry to say that you just lost the most valuable thing you ever had. When you yelled, she loved you anyway. When you kicked her, she loved you anyway. When you withheld food, she loved you anyway. And when she sat outside in a thunderstorm, she loved you anyway.

Now she loves me. She loves to sit quietly by my side and breath in the warm summer air. She offers her paw and rubs her cheeks against my knees. She greets me with a meow each time I enter the room and her heart is practically beating from her little chest when we play.

Yes, you threw away the best thing you ever had. Now what does that feel like?
