In Sabah, WWF-Malaysia works with Government agencies, local communities and tour operators in Semporna to promote turtle conservation and establish turtles as their flagship species for tourism. Records show that there is an increase in nesting at Semporna�s northeast islands from June 2006 to December 2012.
