We would like to share that Chinas annual Dog-meat Eating Festival 2014, would be on this Saturday (21 JUNE, 2014) in Yulin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
More than 10,000 dogs are likely to be slaughtered and served as hotpots with litchis (lychees) and strong liquor.
The festival has once again brought China’s animal rights activists together, who have urged Yulin residents to stop eating dog meat and abolish the festival.
While defenders of local traditions want to continue them and enjoy the traditional local dishes, animal rights activists want this to be banned because they believe dogs should NOT be killed for food.
We would be writing in to the Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China stating our objections to the slaughtering of about 10,000 dogs just for this occasion.
