Old Milo Undergoes Surgery For Swollen, Infected Scrotum

Hi, its Milo here. If you have not met me before, you can read my original story by visiting https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.673457376029334.1073742694.108625789179165&type=3

I was picked up recently in the south of Phuket by Soi Dog animal rescue officer Khun Jaroon. He noticed that I had a very infected and swollen scrotum and when he came closer to me he noticed that I smelt very bad due to the infection.

Khun Jaroon brought me straight to the Soi Dog clinic where Dr Sai knew straight away that the best thing for me would be to remove the horribly infected scrotum. At my age, it certainly didn’t serve me a lot of purpose! I wasn’t feeling very well when I first came to the clinic as I had a high temperature and was very dehydrated. Dr Sai gave me some medicine and after a couple of days I was well enough to have my surgery.

Lucky for me, I was asleep during the surgery so I didn’t feel a thing. When I woke up I was a little bit sore, but not as sore as I was beforehand. I was also very relieved that I didn’t smell bad anymore. I am now being monitored closely by the vets and am on antibiotics to prevent any infection of my surgical would, but aside from that I am feeling great and looking forward to my future.

Dr Sai says that I should say a special thank you to the members of the Emergency Response Team as without their help, Khun Jaroon would not have been able to help me and I would not have been able to get the vet care I needed. If you are not a member of this team, but would like to help me and another animals who need Soi Dog’s help, you can join today by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html
