The two bills total RM452 (inclusive of RM110 for transport and RM35 for cremation, both of which we do not subsidise). This brings the total subsidisable to RM307 and we have subsidised RM153.50 for it. This subsidy comes from the AnimalCare Donors (RM53.50) and Berjaya Cares (RM100).
We have spoken to Lye Peng (aka Ah Ping) on the phone to verify the case. Sumitra wrote on behalf of Ah Ping as Ah Ping is not internet-savvy.
Dear Dr Chan,
I, Sumitra Siew, on behalf of Ah Ping, a feeder cum rescuer near Bukit Bintang area would like to apply for medical subsidy for a injured stray cat, Peng Onn aka Stray.
I had help this rescuer to rehome some of her rescued cats before. She stay in a rented room with her god sister and she keep her rescued cats in the living room. Ah Ping has no knowledge and access to computer for sending email.
Last Thursday after midnite(18/10), Ah Ping hear noises of dogs and cats behind her house. She went to find out what is happening and she found Peng Onn under a tree wounded. She took her home and she called me on Friday morning. As I too don’t have any transport and I just give her a mobile vet contact number. The vet suspect that the cat has a spinal cord injury and to find out more x-ray need to be taken.
On Monday morning (21/10), I went to her house to lend her a small cage to confine Peng Onn so that it will has less movement. Peng Onn only took liquid (spirulina) and fish gravy but not the fish meat or kibbles. She drink water too.
From my observation, Peng Onn cannot control her poo and pee and was very smelly and has urea burn.
On Tuesday (22/10) morning we took Peng Onn to another vet for an x-ray. According to the vet the good news is Peng Onn still has respond on her injured left leg but the tail is out. Therefore the tail need to be amputate. At this moment, Peng Onn has flu and is quite weak to go thru surgery. The vet teaches Ah Peng to help Peng Onn to pee by pressing the bladder.
According to the vet Peng Onn injury is quite bad. 3 area having problem. Broken bone at the pelvis area, left leg and the spinal cord is out of line. The vet said that to fix the leg and amputate the tail first when Peng Onn is strong enough to go thru the surgery. The pelvis to heal by itself.
Attached here are some of Peng Onn photo.
Thank you very much.
Yours sincerely,
sumitra

Dear sis Kah Yein,
Just to inform you that Peng Onn is now in rainbow bridge. She is very weak according to vet to her rescuer on Saturday and was on drip. Peng Onn passed on maybe yesterday nite as Ah Ping received the vet called this morning. Ah Ping went to the clinic to have a last farewell to Peng Onn this morning and to settle the final bill.
I will send the bill and the form to you next week.
Warm regards,
