Lester sent me a video clip last night (on my phone) showing the tremendous improvement in Simba’s condition.
Unfortunately, we have no provision to upload videos on this blog unless it is a youtube link (then, we provide the link).
The video shows Simba prancing around the floor, very happily.
We are really glad Simba has shown great improvement in such a short time. We also strongly encourage rescuers to learn from the experts and professionals on how to best care for their rescues and home-nurse them if the facilities at the clinic (like the IV-drip, etc) are not required. Boarding any animal longer than necessary is not encouraged. Not only will the animal be exposed to pathogens at the clinic, but it will also deprive the space at the clinic for another animal who urgently needs the facilities and vet’s specialised care. This is the reason we do not subsidise boarding but only hospitalisation.
In any case, we are truly happy for Simba. Kudos to Lester, Jenny and family.
Here is a screenshot of the video. It does not show much, though. If Lester could upload it to a youtube, we will then provide the link.
We hope this also means that Simba’s leg need not be amputated after all.
