Updates On Sherlock Aka James
Tweet |
Hi Second Chance,
Here is an update regarding how Sherlock has been faring. He was adopted last year under the name “James”.
Sherlock is growing up steadily since his adoption. He is a very smart but also a very stubborn boy. He is very cute because he loves to stick to the family. I’m happy to announce that he is now a one year old boy.
He has learnt some commands like Sit, Down, Up, Wait, No, Fetch, Come Here, Eat, Drink Water and Sleep. He has learnt that we never lock the door of the house, he can push it open and enter to sit inside the house whenever he feels warm outside or when it is raining.
He has learnt his way round the house. But when you see the picture, he is chained. We have three chains for him. He can actually run from the back to the front and side of the house and we have not changed his space from outside the inner house door because he wants to see us everyday.
The chain allows him to play fetch since it is long enough to reach. We also have a table there that is like an barrier for him. He will fetch, run under the table and jump back up.
He is chained mainly because he and the old dog still fight a lot. He is very playful and energetic, he is never tired. He has stopped chewing on things nowadays, he is learning to tell what can be eaten and what cannot.
We let him off the leash on Sundays. We send the old dog to the back of the house and let Sherlock runs around in the car porch. He loves to jump.
Sherlock eats a lot, 3 soup ladle of dog food. He loves to eat rice with some soup. His diet consists of dog food, rice and some chicken, soup before the salt is added for some taste. He drinks lots of water as well. He loves to eat, he absolutely loves snacks that he can gnaw on slowly.
My family and I think that he is born as a guard dog. He does not allow people to bring in anything into the house and he does not allow them to leave the house with anything as well.
He barks differently when a family member comes home and even before the car arrives at the front gate. He barks at strangers and blocks at the house gate if they attempt to move closer.
Sherlock is now a very obedient boy albeit playful, he is also very understanding. We are glad things work out well and hope by next year he will calm down a little so that we can let him roam free with the old dog.
Yours sincerely,
Janice Chong
