Medical Subsidy For Ibu, Rescued Cat (Nur Ayuni Bt Ab Rahim�s)

Hi Dr Chan,

Thank you for all that you and your organisation have done for street animals in Malaysia. This is my first time applying for a medical subsidy from your organisation.

Meet �Ibu�.

She is a stray who has been living around my neighbourhood for about a year. In fact, she gave birth to her first 2 kittens behind my house. I have since adopted her two kittens one year ago. On 25/4/13, I found her wet and paralysed from the waist down. At the time, she could only �mengesot�. (Please see below a video of her try to walk at the time). I didn�t know what happened to her. In my mind, she might have involved in an accident.

I brought her to a vet. The vet took an x-ray of her and told us that her bones are fine and that means she was not involved in any accident. But the vet told us that based on her condition, there�s a possibility that she is suffering from either diabetic, viral infection, lack of nutrient (post-birth effect; she just gave birth two weeks before the incident) or urinary tract infection. The only way for the vet to find out her real problem is by taking her blood test. The test would cost RM170.00. However, I could not afford the cost. Therefore, the vet gave her antibiotic and calcium supplement for her treatment. The cost of the treatment is�RM190.00.

Therefore, is it possible for me to get medical fund for her? Since the day I found her paralysed, my family have adopted her and taking care of her.

Now, after a few days of treatment and much rest, I am glad that Ibu can walk again even though her hind legs are still weak. Please see below, a new video and picture of Ibu after the treatment.
