Kina The Cat, Parvo-Survivor (a Sharing)

A few weeks ago, a friend contacted me regarding a community cat from her neighbourhood, Kina, who had recently been spayed, but had come down with parvovirus. The condition was quite critical then. Kina was hospitalised, on treatment, but I suggested to try RetroMAD1 as well since it has been proven beneficial in parvo cases (on dogs and cats).

A long story cut short, Kina survived and is thriving now!

Here is the story:

The family started feeding Orpee, a stray mom-cat sometime last year. She brought some kittens with her after that but one by one her kittens went missing. After a while, she brought another batch of kittens and only one black kitten remained and was dewormed and vaccinated when the family sent Orpee for spaying. Few days after that, the black kitten died in their porch. Orpee then brought in another batch (3rd batch) of 3 kittens and Kina came from this last batch. Unfortunately one by one died and Kina is the only survivor.
Kina was spayed on 19 March and was very active and healthy upon recovery. 9 days later she went down and did not want to eat. She was sent to the vet on 28 March and was diagnosed with feline parvovirus. She also had hookworms. Retromad1 was admistered twice a day and she was kept for 5 days.
The youngest daughter and the husband are very dedicated in providing TLC to Kina and Orpee although they are relatively new to looking after cats.
