Our Most Inspiring Speech Yet!

Every year in the fall, Best Friends hosts one of the largest animal welfare conferences in the country, the No More Homeless Pets National Conference.

Taking the show on the road to the East Coast!

This year, were excited to announce that well be taking the conference to the East Coast. It will be held in Jacksonville, Florida, October 1013, at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Early bird registration starts today, and you dont want to miss your opportunity to join us last year we nearly sold out!

Learn from the best!

The conference is a unique opportunity to learn from the best in our field. You will also make contacts and friendships that will help you make a difference in the lives of more animals, help end needless shelter killing, and usher in a day when there are No More Homeless Pets.

Last year, the No More Homeless Pets National Conference took place at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas over Halloween weekend. There were over 1,400 people in attendance dedicated animal-loving rescuers, volunteers, fundraisers, networkers, and animal welfare professionals all committed to the same simple goal: no-kill.

We were all inspired by Julie Castle

One of the highlights of the event was the closing address from Julie Castle, Best Friends senior manager of Communications. Her theme of faithfulness and trust resonated through the conference hall and is embodied in the very simple message that our animal friends convey: I am faithful. Here is an excerpt of Julies closing address:

See you there!

Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is a nonprofit organization building no-kill programs and partnerships nationwide, all coordinated from our Kanab, Utah headquarters - the largest no-kill sanctuary for homeless companion animals.

At the core of our work is the dream that one day kindness will replace cruelty, and animals will no longer be destroyed because they are unwanted or imperfect. Spaying and neutering will be the rule for all pets and adoption from local animal shelters and rescues will be the first option for everyone. Those same shelters and rescues will have the knowledge and resources to help rehabilitate special-needs animals and find the right family for every animal.
