Dear Kah Yein,
Here are the pictures of Batgirl the night before her spaying and pictures of her after her spaying. Though i have been feeding Batgirl for nearly 2 months now, she has not fully trusted me. She is not so much of a people’s cat yet. I believe after her cage rest for 10 days she will warm up to me sooner or later. Catching her was beareable, but she made sure i know her displeasure of caging her for the night before the spaying. She would jump all over the cage, and “meowed” till the wee hours of the morning. It’s just her way letting me and my neighbourhood know that she is not happy. She also meowed all the way to the vet, and the only time she did not meow was on the way back from the vet, as she was still drowsy. Once reaching home, it took her only half an hour after entering the cage that she started climbing and biting her way out of the cage. She climb all over toppling the litter tray and spilling the litter all over the place. I gave her more time and let her settle down on her own. It’s only slightly before midnight that i offer her some soft food and water. She did not take any interest in it and spilled all the food and water all over the cage. I had to put her in the carrier again and clean the cage, and she decided to give me some scratches when i tried to remove her. The next morning was a more calmer Batgirl, but she’s has gained back her full composure and meowed the whole day, taking only half and hour rest in between. The neighbour came out and asked me what was going on and i had to explain. I am grateful i have an understanding neighbour, but i guess there is a limit to a person’s patience. Since it is still the holidays till tomorrow, it should be fine. I may not be able to hold her the whole 10 days which i normally do for females after spaying as she is really a howler. I shall weigh again my decision to release her, giving her another day and see how she settles down. So far, i have managed to spay all the females that comes to me for food. Will take a rest for the CNY period and hope there are no new females that comes to my area, then i will start spaying the males after CNY.
Thanks for approving the subsidy for the spaying. Appreciate it.
p/s: Sorry the pics are not that clear. I hope they are sufficient. If not, please let me know and i will try to hold her to take a picture later, after i have more days to gained her trust. She’s still very scratchy now.
Regards,
Yoke Mei
