Tun Mustapha Park Expedition 2012: Biodiversity Survey At The Proposed Tun Mustapha Park

 


Zarinah Waheed from UMS will be collecting coral species diversity of 2 families which is Agaricidae sp. and Eupharidae sp. Together with Dr. Bert, they will also be looking into species diversity of mushroom coral.

Dr. Maria Beger from the University of Queensland collects data of coral reef fishes found in the proposed Tun Mustapha Park while Stefano Draisma from Universiti Malaya is collecting absence and presence data sets of seaweeds which are macroalgae.

Marine scientist from Naturalis Biodiversity Center; Bastian T. Reijnen and Sancia E.T. van der Meij will be collecting data of Ovullidae sp. snails with their host soft corals and gall crabs with their host stony corals, respectively.

Mr. Muhammad Ali Syed Hussein, Leader of the UMS team also collects data of invertebrates and reef fishes found along transect laid over reefs during Reef Check survey carried out together with the Reef Check Team Leading the Coral Reef Biodiversity Team, Dr. Bert Hoeksema of Naturalis Biodiversity Center and his teams consisting of another 8 marine scientists from Uni…
