Shelter Appeal � We need fund for our new home project.
For the past four years we have been fortunate enough to have lease a portion of land temporarily to start our organization. Unfortunately, H.O.P.E. lost the tender for the new lease of the land and this is the crucial time that we have to find a new permanent land to accommodate 700 dogs and cats. As the limited space of the shelter land size and expiring lease contract on April 2013, we urgently need a comparative spacious land for construction of the new shelter. This is an enormous project which will result to our furry friends future home. It will be well worth the effort and expense as the facility will be able to house our 700 dogs and cats. It will be the place for our furry friends to call it home� also a place with roomy area for the dogs & cats and spacious area for the construction of better facilities for the shelter.
For the last 2 years, we have made numerous appeals to the mayor and the municipality but there was no response from them. H.O.P.E. needs help urgently in funding the project or else our furry friends will have no place to go. We wish to raise RM250,000 as the fund for building this new home for the strays. This construction fund includes facilities like water piping system, electrical supply system, septic tank, drainage system, water storage system, animal medical room, storage room, reception area, quarantine area, adult dog zone, puppy zone, senior citizens zone, disabled animals zone, cat shelter, staff quarters, fencing and other facilities.
We are sincerely looking for kind donors for the sponsorship of building materials, such as cement, sand, hollow bricks, wood & timber, metal mesh, paint, roofing materials and etc.
The completion of the construction of the new shelter is not only as a home for the approximately 700 dogs and cats (as at June 2012), but also aids in the education efforts that HOPE has been doing. The new shelter will plays an important role as an education hub for the teenagers, current students and young adults to be involved in our education programs, which serve to impart the individual with the right attitude in treating and caring for animals. If we can get a permanent shelter, it will save us a lot of money and time in the long run, as we would not have to worry of moving from place to place and build from scratch.
We need this permanent shelter so we able to help more homeless animals and continue with our spay / neuter project. Please help us to make this possible. We still have a long way to go. We sincerely hope to receive warm, generous response and donation from the public, be it as an individual or corporation, and help us to help the strays! Homeless & Orphan Pets Exist (H.O.P.E.) is a non-profit organization and no-kill shelter that aims to improve welfare of strays and abandoned pets around Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Our four core missions are rescuing, re-homing, sterilization and increasing public awareness of pet ownership and responsibilities. Currently, we are caring for approximately 700 abandoned animals in our shelter located at Lima Kedai.
