Just A Money Lover BUT Not An Animal Lover

It started yesterday when April received an SMS from someone; let us call him Mr. T. He had contacted April to take over a pup he had picked up from the streets as the pup was seen running aimlessly on the streets. When April informed him that she does not have a shelter to take over the pup BUT will however try her level best to find a fosterer or better still an adopter for the pup, he threatened to dump the pup back on the streets should April not take over the pup immediately.

This prompted April to reply him with the following email:

Hi Mr. T,

�

Pls sent me the puppy pic, without�pic nothing much i can do.

�

To be honest, im not agreed & upset with ur sms. And�not happy�with your way pushing people like us who is trying hard to help Strays.I'm asking you to work & think of a solution together to help to pup finding a home as this is part of every animal lover duties.

1. Correct me if im wrong, im sure u are an animal lover or else you will not able to know a few of the Strays Rescuers & you'll not pick up the pup frm the streeet and make an effort to call me. You've putting a pressure on me, if i dont take the pup frm u…..u will dum away the pup.

�

2. To save stray is not only my duty, is all our duty as a Penangnite. You have no solution is not the reason to push the responsibility to someone.�How would you�feel if�your boss giving you a very short notice to�meet certain tough criteria and if�you cant do it he will take away�the project��?��

3. Have you ever look at the�innocent eyes, so easy for you dumping the pup back�to the street but do you ever think the pup will�have the possibility run over by a car and will�catch by Coucil than put to sleep ???

4. I'm not sure are you trying to test my sincerity towards the animals and i hope this is not happening.

�

If you were saying something like '�i will try to ask around my friends & colleagues to look for a home�for the pup '�than at least sound like a HUMAN LANGUAGE.� I can't see any sincerity in YOU helping the pup by just calling me and pushing me to take over the pup or else you'll dumping the pup. This is a wrong thinking, pls stop having such thinking and work together to�help more strays.

lm not an animal lover as youve wrongly assumed

l was at the main road just outside my aunt's place when a lady approached me to help rescue a pup which was running in circle on the main road.

l told her l had enough dogs and cats dealing and l dont want to have anything to do with animal rescue

She said "please just save this pup and l will give you a contact number of a good animal rescuer group that will definitely help".

l was very reluctant and wanted to move on but since she gave me the assurance that this group can really rescue the pup, l obliged her.

And she then gave me a number to call.

lm an architect by profession and 3yrs ago l�was contracted to work�with an institution on a project at balik Pulau that involves blending Human residential habitation with Nature.The idea is to include building structure involving plants or natural elements.lts supposed to be ecofriendly and wouild also�include animal habitation.

l was then introduced to several groups, one being the animal rescue groups ,� to get feedback on domesticated animals.

Thats how l know all these people.� lts not that lm an animal lover !!

Maybe money lover but definitely not animals� Ha ha ha

l collate info on how animals are partitioned, feeding habits, hygiene, quarantine space,sick bay etc

lm aware that the animal rescue 'clan' is not very closely knitted and fortunatedly lm not close to them either.

Maybe lm closer to (M——) bcos she lives next to my aunt's place at ——- Rd and l talk to her quite often when l meet her at her place at —————————-.

lve been too almost all the 'dog pound' and lm wearied by the 'caretakers' coz

the heart is very big but they are all overloaded.

Ok, in our context, lm not pushing anybody and�your �using �the word Us is very queer

You hardly know me nor my background

lf you have dispute amongst your animal �'Clan', please dont conveniently round me up with them

l have no clue to whatever is happenning amongst you people and lm never ln the picture and not interested in the disputes

lf l had known how you would respond, l would have put the pup in SPCA where its likely to be euthanised but what choice is there?

You have wrongly assumed that lm one of you rescuing animals and needing to share each others burden

Thats is a wrong assumption.

And lm a Singaporean, not penangnites. lm an expatriate working in a project

l have nothing to do with animal rescue.

It�s very saddening to see such email, indeed. We do not know what �dispute amongst your animal clan� meant as our rescue work continues despite whatever reasons and neither can we make out what this has to do with him helping to temporary foster the pup until we found him a fosterer since the pup is currently with him. Anyway, April has agreed to take over the pup today to avoid him from dumping the poor pup back on the streets.

With this, we have now learn our lesson well. Seems like Singaporeans like to be portrait as non-animal lover, and purely just money lover. However, we sincerely believe that there are Singaporeans out there who are passionate with animals but statement such as this, made by Mr. T can greatly affect their country�s reputation.

�

Our last words to ALL – you do not have to be an animal rescuer/lover to save an animal from sufferings. Please try to understand our constraints at times and do not used pushy words or threatening way on us. It purely reflects your selfish behavior.

�

With that we hope that someone would come forward to adopt this poor pup. It must be living in stress and fear with a Singaporean, non-animal lover.
