Trade Of Shame...

 


As many of you know Soi Dog has launched the Trade of Shame campaign to bring to an end, once and for all to the inhumane and barbaric dog meat trade. The campaign has and will continue to concentrate on the core of the problem, that being ending the trade altogether through the stronger enforcement of existing laws and the introduction of stronger animal welfare legislation. The campaign has gone well. Since the campaigns start in August 2011 more arrests of smugglers have been made than in the preceding 15 years! BUT, this has presented another enormous challenge, how to care for the literally thousands of dogs recovered during these arrests. Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand.
