Puppies In A Hole

I took this picture near my house. These two puppies took shelter in a drain. First thing that came to  to my mind was how cute they were. But they were starving and their mother was finding it so hard to search for food for them. People think that neutering is inhumane but please think hard about it again…..

I know some owners  won’t neuter their dogs but let them wander out of their houses. These dogs will certainly find ‘interesting things’ to do out there. Some females can’t fight off the males and there is  no choice but to get pregnant. Whether she is ready to be a mother or not, she has to take care of her litter and her life will be a very harsh one.
I know the mother dog of these puppies. She had given birth to three to four litters before. And out of those 20 puppies from the last few litters, only 3 survived. And only one one pup survive from this last litter. Why allow more puppies into this world? These young ones are likely to starve to death or fall sick from the conditions they live in.

In addition to why dog neutering is  so necessary is because many  shelters are already flooding with dogs.  Irresponsible and selfish people are already abandoning their dogs in the streets and even in  shelters. We don’t need any more dogs, especially when there are also many illegal puppy mills that breed pedigree dogs in very filthy and inhumane conditions. Many mother dogs will be abandoned and left to die in the streets when they have past their productive lives or not in good health to breed.

Lastly, male dogs that have been neutered tend to be less aggressive as he won’t need to worry of his sexual needs. And female dogs will not be attracting many male dogs to her. Your dogs will become more calm and stable and more contented with his/her life. It is a win-win-win situation for you, the dog and the society!

Thank you for reading.
