The Passing Of Super (Maslinda Abd Talibs)

Our sponsored cat and Koo’s rescued cat, Super, passed away last night after a short illness. We’d like to thank Maslinda for having looked after Super for several months now, ever since her rescue. Super’s kittens, Jamie and Sunny have been adopted while Maxie is still with Maslinda.
May Super be in a happier and better existence now, after having received so much love and care from Maslinda all these months.
Thank you, Maslinda.
From Maslinda:
Super died at 11++pm . today she’s generally ok, with her normal runny nose (last sent to vet last week, neb and antibiotic). i even went to the vet yesterday to get her retromad supply which has runs out. she’s only not eating on the evening. something inspiring that i want to share here on her passing.
at about 9pm, i heard some noise coming from my room. as usual, in the evening she’ll stay under my bed (she has her spot there) . i went to the room and saw peggy (now renamed as ipek) was trying to pull her out from under the bed (just like mother cats did to their kittens).
(if you can recall, i’ve mentioned to you about peggy before. she was one of the nursing mother for quite a number of kitttens in my house. when super was sent to my place, peggy was already at my house after being rescued with her own 4 kittens and some other kittens. she and super then together nursed all the kittens (about 14 of them including their own) with additional help from pets own milk. she even breastfeed sunny, maxie and jamie as well.)
i saw super lying almost motionless but still making some noise while been dragged. i thought they were fighting, but apparently not. it seems like ipek wants to let me know that super is not well. super then immediately got up and go to her cage and stay there. she was still ok and sitting down. nothing suspicious at that time.
i was about to prepare their supper when super starts to panting. it’s not that bad but she’s panting. i placed the hot water bottle and she seems comfortable. 10 minutes later, the same thing happens, this time she’s started to gasping. i took her onto my arm, try to make her comfortable, then the gasping stop. put her back in the cage and this is when peggy came into the cage and start to lick super, as if trying to make her comfortable
as i was in shocked as super is deteriorating fast, i took and put her on my lap. she started mewing. put her back in the cage. ipek immediately went in and she hugs super and 2 minutes later super was gone. i dont get to get the pics of ipek hugging super during her final moment coz my camera die on me n dont bother to recarhge it.
3 minutes after her passing, ipek still in the cage and licking super. i captured a video on this. it’s touching. it’s just few seconds but i didnt get the most touching part where ipek was hugging super for more than 1 minute and licking her face on her final moments till she passed on
i believed that ipek and super has special bonding. yes they have been nursing many kittens together, sharing a room for 2-3 months and being quite close to each other. ipek as motherly as she is, has been taking care of maxie, sunny and jamie when super is spayed, warded etc.
rest in peace super. thank you animalcare for sponsoring super and the her kittens.
We sponsored all of Super’s treatment but Koo reimbursed us in full for all of them. Some of the reimbursement came as donations from Koo’s friends.
Here are the photos of Peggy and Super:
Together, Peggy and Super nursed many orphaned kittens.
Some of the kittens passed on, but many have been adopted now.
