May Day!! (its A Cause For Celebration For Usgo Yellow!)

May will always be a special month for us.
It was on 31st May2009that I started AnimalCare holding a cardboard box at the Subang Jaya Buddhist Association, telling the audience what our intention were and that we would try our best to help (hopefully!) 10 street animals per year. I’m not an ambitious person. I’m realistic. Despite the fact that we have far exceeded our target so far, I’m still being realistic – 10 animals per year and I’ll be happy enough. If we can do more, that’s a bonus.
As of today, our record is: 1843. And that’s not counting all the animals helped through our Food Fund, all the free books (60,000 copies) and the blog posts.
It was on 6th May 2011 that I got AnimalCare officially registered as a Society under the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia.
And what actually planted the seed of AnimalCare was what happened on 7th May 2006 – that was the morning I went for a walk and stumbled upon Cow, Bunny and Pole, abandoned by the side of the road, on the wet grass after the rain. That was the day I took them home, having never even touched a cat (what more newborn kittens) before all my life. I called up the shelter (being a Sunday, all the vets were closed) and asked for help and the officer taught me what to do.
That actually was what started AnimalCare, ie. that if I, who knew absolutely nothing about caring for street animals, could do something useful for Cow, Bunny and Pole, so can others. And AnimalCare was mooted three years later, as a medical fund and more importantly, as a charity with education enveloping everything that we do.
So, since the month of May holds so many memorable milestones for us, we are going to have a special tshirt sale from today (25th April) until 31st May 2012.
We will be selling the remaining stock of our Yellow tshirts at RM20 per piece, in celebration of our 3rd anniversary. “3″ is a nice number, I’m told.
The rest of the designs are at its usual price of RM25. Only Yellow is on sale!

Why only the Yellow one? Well, because I think its message is clear and we really have to speak up for the animals. Speak Up and Do!
