My apologies to everyone for the delay in this news as I had a very, very long day today. Some of you have written in to enquire – thank you so much for your concern, prayers and offers of help. My friend says there is no need for any subsidy as yet.

This afternoon, my friend brought Brainy to see our vet. The vet shaved the part around the puncture wound and gave some antiseptic cream. Brainy is just too young for anything more as medications would be toxic for such an infant animal. Our vet did not charge any fee.

As you all know, Brainy’s life was hanging by a thread yesterday, after hanging on overnight (two nights before) when he was attacked by another cat in John’s house.

We all prayed so hard for Brainy, but we also feared the worst would happen because Brainy appeared to have a broken neck and could only roll around (suspected neurological damage).

But miracles do happen, folks.

Thanks to my friend who took over Brainy from John and brought her home to nurse, Brainy is showing improvement now.

Here’s what happened at the vet’s today:

When the vet touched and carried Brainy, he let out a big meow! Then I saw his left side eye which was closed all the time opened…and when the vet handed him over to me to be fed, Brainy opened his mouth on his own!! I told dr how difficult it was for Brainy to swallow but he actually drank quite a bit. When I told him he has magic hands, he was so humble and said it wasn’t him…Brainy was just hungry!

That’s our “miracle vet” who saved my Vixey’s life four years ago when Vixey suddenly started spurting thick blood out from her nose and rolled on her back. Vixey had a brain trauma (suspected to be congenital) and could only turn in one direction. Out vet put her on drips, steroids and gave her three days to recover, telling me that young kittens have a good chance of healing, but he also prepared me for the worst.

Vixey was declared fit enough to be discharged on the 3rd day and I brought her home.

That was a total miracle.

Back to Brainy, I managed to rush to the vet’s in time to meet my friend and Brainy just before they left.

Here are the photos:

You see the puncture wound? It’s actually very deep.

Get well soon, Brainy! Be strong now. You’re our little hero!

Then, my friend texted in the evening:

Brainy drank 1 ml of milk in a single feeding!!! What a miracle…and surrounded him with warm rice socks. Still don’t know if it’s a he or a she, though.

Never mind the gender…we’re just so, so relieved and thankful that Brainy has made it this far and is improving.

I’d say my friend is the one with the magic hands, don’t you agree?

Let’s keep praying for Brainy’s recovery, please.

Let’s make this miracle a reality.
