Medical Subsidy For Curly, Dog With Cancer (Meijis)

Ref:http://myanimalcare.org/2012/03/10/subsidy-for-meijis-dogs-medical-treatment/

I met Meiji today when she came to collect our food subsidy of 10 packs of food for her dogs, and Meiji told me all about Curly, one of her many dogs.

Meiji also handed me a receipt of RM 285 for Curly’s latest treatment and notes from the vet. According to what I understand from the notes, Curly has mastcell cancer. Her front leg had been amputated (we subsidised the cost) and now she is on chemotherapy drugs to prolong her lifespan and slow down the process of metatasis of the malignant cancer.

The chemo drug is to be administered orally by Meiji herself and she has to use gloves when doing this. Meiji also has to change Curly’s bandage every day and to do so with care.

There are also 4 other drugs to be given to Curly daily.

We have subsidised RM142.50 for Curly’s medication/drugs and treatment.
